"The Most Beautiful Land. Cuba”: The Island Seen By The Finest Spanish Photographers

By Jorge Morla Suárez

There is huge expectation around the La Tierra mas hermosa. Cuba exhibition, in Havana, a project where excellent Spanish photographers display their vision on the Isle, its people, landscapes and streets; all in all, its magic.

Acclaimed artists such as Jose Maria Diaz Maroto, Enrique Meneses, Alberto Garcia Alix, Angel Marcos or Cristina Garcia Rodero, are some of the photographers that make up this luxurious list. Isabel Muñoz, Jose Maria Mellado, Jose Ramon Bas, Juan Manuel Castro Prieto, Juan Manuel Diaz Burgos and Toni Catany are also included among the participants. It’s an exhibition that tells the history of the isle since 1959, immortalized on 66 snapshots that take us into the particular vision of each of these artists on Cuba.

This new expositive project is inspired by the way of seeing and feeling a culture, the eternal yearning of a photographer. An approach that guides us through the Isle and its mysteries; images that will take us to many spots of the archipelago, to sense the land, skin and taste of a culture.

The exhibition is to be officially inaugurated at Cuba’s National Museum of Fine Arts on December 9, 2011, and, afterwards, it will be traveling around the most important cities of Spain. Pure photography, a must-see for those who love this art.
