SWAB to Come Back in May

The fifth edition of SWAB, International Fair on Contemporary Art, is going to be held on May 23 - 26 at the Pavilion 2 of Fira Barcelona.

Following the renovation effort that presently characterizes most of this kind of events, SWAB is focused on the internationalization as the main aspect for its positioning, so this time it counts on two specific exhibition spaces: American Galleries, for Latin American galleries; and Asian Galleries, for the Asian ones. MYFAF (My First Art Fair), a pretty applauded initiative because provides a chance for 4 galleries with short experience to exhibit for free, will continue this year.

As for the awards, 2012 SWAB will count on its habitual recognition for drawings, and launches the Award to the best gallery of SWAB Barcelona, along with Fundacio Banc Sabadell, as well as the first Mango Award for young artists. The awarded pieces, in both cases, will make up the two companies’ collections.

The music will be also playing a leading role, because a festival organized by Sala Razzmatazz is going to be held at Universo square, Feria de Barcelona, with a daily program.

2012 SWAB, with a considerably larger participation if compared with previous editions, will be showcasing the works of sixty galleries from eighteen countriesand is going to be opened to viewers since Thursday May 24,because the 23rd is for professionals and collectors only.

Arte por Excelencias repeats this year as media partner of the event.
