New Exhibition at the Espacio Cultural Excelencias

The Espacio Cultural Excelencias, a major artistic reference in Madrid, is opening Hollywood in Madrid, a new exhibition due out on March 15 at 7:30pm in 8 Magdalena Street. This is a grand tour around over 40 photographs taken by Vicente Ibañez that feature some of the most charismatic and well-known faces of America’s golden age cinema. Ibañez’s shots were taken during those boldface names’ visits to Spain.

The exhibit is commissioned by Enrique del Pozo, a man who has in recent years engaged in the task of recovering the Spanish photographer’s recent work. Ibañez’s lens was able to capture the inner character of such stars as Ava Gardner, Cary Grant, Sophia Loren, Tyrone Power or Alfred Hitchcock.

Vicente Ibañez, a photographer and an acquaintance of several national and international movie stars of his time, managed to shoot some of the most dazzling actors and actresses who left marks of their own as showcased in this exposé. This is also a tribute to the geniality of this master photographer who devoted all of his life to the art of chasing light and recovering the glamour of that Hollywood whose star system generated several film celebrities that have prevailed to date.

Through April 15, the Espacio Cultural Excelencias is rolling out the red carpet to welcome photography enthusiasts and movie buffs willing to embark on a journey by the hand –better yet the lens- of Vicente Ibañez and take a closer look at that celebrated dream-making world.
