Astarte Gallery Showcases Girls Just Want To Have Fun within the Framework of A 3 BANDAS

Astarte gallery is set to exhibit GirlsJustWantToHaveFun, April 3 – May 31, which gathers a small group of artists (women and men) whose work shows “high ludic density”. From the pleasure of the technical construction of the work – collages, printings and other graphic and textile procedures, hand-made and repetitive –, to the visual delight of a hybrid, dynamic, urgent painting … Heterogeneous resources for works that highlight creative processes and visual-ness.

Álvaro González, Catarina Branco, Arancha Goyeneche, Mike Swaney, Laura López Balza and Nuria Mora reflect with the artworks the life of the creative experience. Fabrication, pre-technological and craft processes are sort of evident, but the search for powerful visual results confirms that, although they have become imbued with the multidisciplinary trends that prevails on contemporary art, they haven’t left behind their solid pictorial tradition. These artists haven’t lost the direct contact with the work and they express their factual, constructive capability, their creative passion.
