Gachi Prieto Gallery presents Tamara Burlando´s show What we have always been

Gachi Prieto Gallery presents Tamara Burlando´s show What we have always been. For the first time in Buenos Aires Tamara exhibits her work and presents the book Papunya Smiles, as the result of her experience in the Aboriginal community of Papunya, in the desert of Central Australia. This exhibition is part of the official program of the Festival de la Luz, and may be visited from September 2nd. through 26th. in Dacil Art, Pasaje Soria 5125, Palermo, Buenos Aires. In 2008, Tamara was awarded a scholarship by the government of Australia to carry out workshops in visual and textile arts in Aboriginal communities. From March 2009 until 2012 she lived in Papunya, developing art projects with women and children in the community. She currently lives and works with Aboriginal artists in the capital of the desert, Alice Springs, in art centers specialized in Australian Aboriginal art. The book will also be presented in Australia on November 2th., at "The Residency", space declared Cultural Heritage of Alice Springs, in conjunction with an exhibition of photographs from the book, thanks to a scholarship awarded by this institution in collaboration with the Araluen Arts Centre and Arts NT.
