Cuban Artist in Argentina Contemporary Art Biennial

A work of Yudit Faife Vidal, renowned visual artist in the province of Sancti Spiritus, represents Cuba in the II Biennial of Contemporary Art in Argentina, in session with the participation of artists of more than 30 nations.

 

The official site of the meeting reports that until February 10th, the Cultural Center Borges, the capital of the South American country is home to artists, scholars, journalists, curators and critics interested in spreading the techniques of the current plastic, by a major international exhibition, seminars and workshops.

 


In statements to AIN, Vidal Faife (Santa Clara, 1979) explained that the work titled /Bordando tu paisaje/  (/ Embroidering your landscape /) exhibited at the event, which began last Friday  is an allegory to the most genuine traditions of Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus where she lives and serves as a constant inspiration in her career.

 


Made with a mixed and round technique, /Bordando.../ are about 150 centimeters in diameter and in it can be found a charcoal drawing of the city museum in the Caribbean, on a canvas with frayed, one of the manifestations that characterize the artisan panorama of the village Heritage of Humanity, she said.

 


The painter and designer declared Universal Peace Ambassador and author of dissimilar exhibitions, also commented on the excellent opportunity to promote the work of artists from the island in an event that gives awards in categories as diverse as sculpture, installation and digital art.

 

 

She said that right now she is immersed in a new project, much more comprehensive as it includes about a twenty pieces that will be exhibited in Trinidad in early 2015.
