Contar con la Habana 2014 Workshop

Dedicated to the 495 anniversary of the founding of the Cuban capital, and with the participation of personalities and storytellers from Cuba, Colombia- Switzerland and Spain, the Iberoamerican Workshop of Scenic Storytelling “Contar con la Habana” 2014 will be held, organized by the Iberoamerican cathedra of Scenic Storytelling (CIINOE), founded and directed by Francisco Garzon Cespedes.

 

The Workshop celebrates the CIINOE’s 25th Anniversary with shows in relevant spaces. The House of Obra Pía, the National Museum of Decorative Arts and other institutions, workplaces, homes for the elderly and primary schools in the Historical Center of Havana will be hosting this event (the oldest of its kind in Cuba) , including galas, storytelling shows, and presentation and donation of books by Garzon Cespedes to cultural institutions.


During the sessions of this Workshop, the CIINOE will grant to personalities and institutions that have promoted storytelling and orality, the "Storytelling" National Award and Iberoamerican Special Award "Chaman" as well as its highest award, the Distinction "Por la Oralidad ".

 

The Iberoamerican Scenic Storytelling Workshop "Contar con La Habana" 2014 will count on the presence of  the Spanish Concha de la Casa, a member of the Board of CIINOE and Director of the International Puppet Festival of Bilbao (FITB / CDTB); Colombian-Swiss Gladys Corredor, and Cubans (writers, storytellers, researchers ..., among them true personalities of our culture) Haydée Arteaga, Nisia Aguero, Nicolas Dorr, Thelvia Marin, Rogelio Martinez Fure, Fernando Rodríguez Sosa and Magaly Sanchez Ochoa, as well as Silvia Tellería, Tomasa Rojas, Rafael Ribot Mendoza and Dayana Deulofeu.
