Raffaello: la Madonna del Divino Amore

Raffaello Sanzio, Nuestra Señora del Amor Divino Nápoles, Museo di Capodimonte, Farnese Collection.Made possible by a remarkable collaboration with the Capodimonte Museum in Naples, the exhibition Raffaello: la Madonna del Divino Amore sheds new light on Raphael’s complex and fascinating creative path, stemming from major restoration work and scientific research.

By offering the chance to fully assess the results of these studies, this extraordinary exhibition supplements other recent, large monographic shows with a wealth of new insight into the painter’s creative process and technique.

The exhibition presents reflectographic analyses, revealing the painting’s inner structure along with Raphael’s numerous variations and pentimenti, alongside drawings and preparatory sketches from some of Europe’s foremost graphic collections, including the Albertina in Vienna and the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, France.
