Marina Curci presents “Botanica”

In this new series of works, Marina Curci (Buenos Aires, 1969) makes a meticulous subjective exploration of flowers in watercolors on paper. She observes their movements, changes and mutations throughout the days and paint them in a landscape with balanced spaces on white paper. This way, she links to Botanic since she carries out a taxonomy about the natural environment she loves so much but from a visual invention that has a similar, never an imitation.

According to curator Olga Correa, Marina Curci, Marina Curci makes an “archeology of memory” to recover through painting that vegetal from childhood and reestablish the emotional elements that drew up the familiar space”.

This way, Marina Curci decided to show them in an installation made with furniture from her family as a way to strength the link establishing the flowers in each picture to her personal story and the emotional part.
