Artist Antonyo Marest presents his solo exhibition called "El Hundimiento" at the Swinton Gallery. A critical reflexion on the great work made by the human being in the last years: LA CRISIS.
The fetish geometric figure by the urban artist covers all about the breakdown of the current society. In his reflection, Marest does not search those responsible for our “breakdown” in the economic, social and moral field, but he tries to open the eyes toward the world in order to achieve a reaction from the conscience of reality.
Through a nonconformist and irreverent message, the artist presents 18 pieces mixing with painting using all kind of recyclable materials. Each work expresses a message full of irony, presenting those breakdowns afore mentioned plus those related to education, sanity and culture. This series is accompanied by some sculptural installations that make an invitation for the viewers are part of a disaster we have favored both in an active or passive way.
"El Hundimiento" exhibition will be seen from April 10 to May 16, 2015 at the Swinton Gallery, 21 Miguel Servet Street, Madrid. This is an exhibition organized by Swinton&Grant, with the collaboration of the PAC Contemporary Art Plataform and the support of Absolut.
Before the opening, Marest will give some of his pieces around the gallery inviting those who find them to see the exhibition and get the artist’s signature. Also a contest through Instagram will be carried out with the support of Iger Madrid. All the internet users who post a picture with the hashtag #elhundimientomarest and better represent the concept of the exhibition, they will receive a picture by AntonyoMarest (numbers and signed) belonging to the “El Hundimiento” project.
