Exhibition recovers the Picasso’s legacy in the contemporary art

An exhibition with over 200 works of contemporary artists inspired by the legacy of Pablo Picasso to be the luxury in the celebration for the 25 anniversary of the Deichtorhallen Center of Art and Photography of Hamburgo (in the northern part of Germany).

 

Under the name of Picasso en el arte contemporáneo (Picasso in the contemporary art) the exhibition will be presenting until July 12, works by 90 artists whose work show the lasting influence of Picasso, according to a conference pres.

 

Dirk Luckow, curator of the exhibition, stated that the influence of the Picasso’s work in the contemporary art “remains being underestimated”. “The Picasso’s art has now such influence since his work and person cannot be separated one from the other and that makes his work singular, “he said.

 

The exhibition is chronologically ordered from 1930 with works of Paul Klee, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Erwin Blumenfeld, although the main focus are the last 50 years with works of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg and Asger Jorn.

 

Also, the most of the exhibited works reflect the different periods of the artist: the so called Blue period, the Rose period and his cubism time.
