Biennial and Something More in the Summer

Visual arts are part of the cultural events of the summer, with some echoes of 12th Havana Biennal that just recently finished, along with new exhibitions, workshops and guided tours.

 

Seven of the popular project work Behind the wall remain for public enjoyment: La Pista de Hielo, Los Miradores de Duvier by El Dago, the sculpture Primavera and pieces such as Libertad and Árbol de luz.

 

At the same time, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Wifredo Lam Center and the Center for Visual Arts Development keep some of the exhibits of the Biennial. The Center for Visual Arts Development also hosts Alas de Papel Origami Festival, the Naif Art conference by Robert Crispin, on July 23, at 10:00 am, and Rutas y Andares project.

 

The Fototeca de Cuba exhibits El Viaje, photos of the 2012 winning scholarship project of creation by artists Jeffrey Cardenas and Yanela Pineiro, and Concesiones,, by Khadis de la Rosa.

 

The UNEAC’s Villa Manuela Gallery will host the shows Contrarios Complemetarios II, by Pedro de Oraá, from July 17 to August 14 and Galería Habana gallery with the collective exposition Pintura Fresca II, from July 24 to August 28.

 

La Acacia galleryy calls to the Erotic Art Hall 2015 from July 10 to August 28, and the galleries El Reino de Este Mundo and Artis 718 inaugurate personal exhibits by artists Niel Reyes and Osy Millan, respectively.

 

Finally, the Cuban Association of Craft Artists (ACAA), will make exhibitions, cultural shows, a course about dolls and workshops of sewing, papier maché, embroidery and crochet.
