Concert of Cuban artist Yaíma Sáez highly praised in Canada

Yaíma Sáez’s great voice was very praised by both, the audience and specialized critics in Toronto, after her unique concert in the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, at The Distillery Disctrict.

Included in the Panamanía Festival of Art and Culture for the 17th Panamerican Games, there was a great review on the performance of Sáez and her group on the Toronto Hispano website, describing as special the repertoire of eighteen emblematic songs of Cuban popular music.

“Those attending the concert had the chance to enjoy this big show full of strength and feeling; a direct and subtle concert distinguished by a beautiful relationship among artists and audience”, as reported the newspaper.

On Monday, the artist shared the stage with Pupy y los que son son orchestra, to sing in English and French the theme Un llamado a los Panamericanos (A call on the Pan American Games), an original theme by César Pedroso, which identifies the Cuban delegation.

Born in the eastern city of Camagüey, on September 23, 1979, Yaíma Sáez Bejarano has a Bsc. Degree in Physical Culture, and started HER musical career just 9 years ago.

Owner of a powerful, velvety voice, this contralto is considered as one of the followers of bolero, filin, cancion and son styles among a long list of female singers of her country.

In late November, she will offer two concerts at the theater of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.
