David Blanco Live: A Gift from Artex’s Musicalia

Musicalia, one of Artex’s two artistic representation agencies, has posted on its YouTube channel the concert given by David Blanco in 2013 at Havana’s seawall, within the framework of UN’s “Únete” campaign to stop violence against women and girls. Mr. Blanco is one of the most active representatives of this campaign and this video is a present for those who like fine Cuban rock.

 

During the performance, David Blanco was accompanied by some young musicians. He sang La tierra prometida along with Gretell Barreiro, a song he usually performs with his brother Ernesto Blanco, who is also a member of Musicalia’s catalogue.

 

For La pachanga Mr. Blanco invited Qva Libre, and Orland Max, described as Cuba’s Pitbull, accompanied him in Liberación, a reggae song on freedom, love and music. Hector Tellez Jr. joined him to sing Queen’s smash hit We will rock you.

 

David Blanco, a representative of a new generation of Cuban musicians and one of the most acclaimed singers and songwriters on the island, has produced 5 albums and 2 DVDs, always with Bis Music record label, also Artex’s.

 

They are entitled Tengo para dar, El despechao, La gente natural, La evolución and Amigos, as well as DVDs La evolución and El nuevo mundo. Live. Since 2014 he has been sharing with his fans some of the tracks that are going to be included in his most recent album, which he has decided to name Vida Libre.

 

The concert posted by Musicalia and recorded by Puntilla Films, features Cuba’s National Hotel as emblematic background and it can be enjoyed by clicking on the title or some of the songs.
