Cuban Painter Exhibits at Bogota Teatroba Center

Bogota.- The exhibition "Paquete de Medidas", a satire by Cuban artist Silvio Martinez Cabrera, remains open at the Bogota cultural center Teatrova, as part of the Third International Mask Festival. This exhibition, by the painter from Pinar de Rio, linked to the cultural activity of Colombia for several years, includes a critical vision to the promises of neoliberal governments announcing populist actions from bureaucratic positions that never comply with.

Most of the paintings exhibited for the first time at the entrance of the capital's theater, contain transparent coverings of dissimilar objects, such as typewriters and sewing machines, as well as cups, vases and even a paper boat.

Another line developed by Martinez Cabrera in the 25-work exhibition are Transparencies, allegorical to daily drizzle and the dew in great part of the year in the Colombian capital.

The peculiarity of his canvas is that all simultaneously create handcrafted figures in proportion to the size of the paintings.

Professor of the Arts, Hobbies and Strokes Academy in Bogota, with more than 50 students, the painter told Prensa Latina that he plans to exhibit again here in November, on occasion of the campaign of the cultures of Cuba and Colombia.
