San José de las Lajas.- A photographic exhibit about the Prima Ballerina Assoluta, Alicia Alonso was inaugurated at this city’s museum for the Cuban Culture Day and the fifth anniversary of the establishment of Mayabeque province.
The exhibit has been taken from the ballet Giselle, performed by the Cuban artist and Russian dancer Vladímir Vasíliev on October 31 of 1980 at Havana’s Gran Teatro.
The 15 photos belong to a group of important photographers including Tito Álvarez, Julio Caballero, Frank Álvarez, Rogelio Moré, Oriol and José Pola.
The show could be visited until November as homage to that legend of dance who will soon celebrate her 95 birthday and who was declared Huésped Ilustre (Illustrious Guest) of Madruga municipality.
