Famous Cuban visual artists to donate pieces for Acapulco

Famous Cuban visual artists Ever Fonseca, National Visual Arts Award winner and Manuel López Oliva, National Critic Award winner, donate each one a piece to the Acapulco municipality.

The cultural exchange Proyecto Manzanillo, that takes place in this Mexican resort since 2014, will make the donation of reproductions on behalf of the creators.

That idea, promoted by the Municipal Committee of the Association of Writers and Artists of Manzanillo and the Cuban Journalists Association, among others, is now strengthened in the context of the 9th International Festival NAO, that will conclude on October 31.

Ever and López Oliva, together with a group of artists and intellectuals from Manzanillo are part of this project that while divulging art and culture have the purpose to globalize the 17 geographic places of the world named Manzanillo and that are located in eleven Iberia American nations.

After the donation,  will be celebrated a concert by Pablo Milanés, coordinated with the Proyecto Manzanillo, that will take place at the square of the Historic Museum of the San Diego Fortress.

Playa Manzanillo, west of Acapulco bay, was crossed by Cuban National Hero Jose Marti in 1978, on his honeymoon journey with Carmen Zayas Bazán.

Martí and Zayas Bazán stayed there between January 4 and 9, after a risky and little romantic travel they started from his friend Manuel Mercado’s place in the Mexican capital on December 26 of 1877.

With NAO 2015, this resort re-launches to the best world the best scenery of the Mexican Pacific that joins the natural beauties and the history of Mexico’s most famous touristic harbor and celebrates the arrival of Asian immigrants to this land.

The 9th International Festival NAO Acapulco 2015 started last October 24 with the attendance of representatives of arts and culture from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Cuban among them.
