Saint Lucia to celebrate Caribbean and Latin American film festival

Castries.- St Lucia announced that the first Caribbean and Latin American film festival will be celebrated next month with the screening of several national films from five countries of the continent.

 

The event will take place from November 9 to 13 and is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries in collaboration with two other institutions of the Island and the Embassies of Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico and Brazil.

 


The program includes materials from national filmmakers, and also ten foreign films, among which are Libertador, from Venezuela, Esther en alguna parte, from Cuba and Vinicius de Moraes, from Brazil.

 


According to the organizers, the Festival was founded after several contacts with Latin American corps diplomatic accredited in Castries and with the objective to divulge the cultural roots of the peoples’ region.

 


St. Lucia intends to celebrate the festival yearly and to bring a greater number of audiovisuals from different countries.
