Santiago de Cuba Expecting Olga Tañon

Santiago de Cuba.- The citizens of Santiago de Cuba are eager to enjoy the presentation of the Puerto Rican singer Olga Tanon, in this city, next December 5 at the Plaza of the Revolution Antonio Maceo. According to the local newspaper Sierra Maestra, the concert will begin at 15:00 and will include 20 songs of her repertoire as well as that of Cuban Descemer Bueno and Qva Libre, who will accompany.

 

Sergio Recasén, director of the Trade Company of Music and Entertainment told the newspaper the artist will arrive on December 2 and will visit the special school Frank País, in Vista Alegre, and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Charity, in the town of El Cobre.

 

According to the preliminary program she is expected to attend a session of the International Choir Festival, based here in early December and the concert on December 3 at the Heredia Theater to honor Septeto Santiaguero, which recently awarded the Latin Grammy on traditional tropical music.

 

Tanon will also visit cultural institutions of the city, which Municipal Assembly of People's Power will award her, on behalf of the people of Santiago, as a Distinguished Visitor.
