The Cuban Company of Musical Recording and Edition (EGREM, as per its initials in Spanish) will offer more than 80 new records this year, as affirmed to the press Mario Escalona, general director of the oldest recording house of the country.
The plan includes all Cuban music genres, especially dance and traditional music with 10 and seven albums, respectively.
The dance music category presents recordings from Pupy y los que Son Son, El Niño y La Verdad, Alain Pérez and a production by popular Dominican meringue player Johnny Ventura under a special license for Cuba.
In the traditional music section, will be the albums of the multi-awarded Septeto Santiaguero (the first they signed with EGREM), Pancho Amat y El Cabildo del Son, a CD-DVD for the 65th anniversary of Conjunto Chapotín ans a record of the Septeto Turquino, among others.
Folkloric music will be also represented with an album of the centenary Conga de Los Hoyos, a homage record to the Mozambique rhythm by Tambores de Bejucal and a CD-DVD for the 70th anniversary of Changüí de Guantánamo.
In the rumba genre, Team Cuba and in fusion will be available a new record of Qva Libre, CD-DVDs from Habana Abierta and Telmary and a compilation of videos clips of Buena Fé.
