Otto, Otto Wegener Dit, Marcel Proust on a couch. [Probably 27 July 1896]. Original photograph.Auctions of the archives of great authors are extremely rare. This sale of the collection of Marcel Proust’s great-grandniece Patricia Mante-Proust thus represents a major literary event.

The collection includes over 120 rare photographs, books, manuscripts and letters—treasures that will provide bibliophiles and admirers with an intimate look at the great writer’s work, friendships and love affairs.

Among the exceptional pieces up for auction are a first edition of Du côté de chez Swann (Swann’s Way) inscribed and signed by Proust, portraits and photographs of Proust and his family and friends, and precious examples of personal correspondance - including one of only three existing letters written by Proust to his father.
