Opening Bernar Venet. Angles, Arcs, and Indeterminate Lines

Galería Cayón is pleased to present, at both of its exhibit halls in Madrid (Blanca de Navarra 7 and 9), the first individual exposition by Bernar Venet (France, 1941) to be offered in the Gallery and in Spain in over 25 years.

This inaugural exhibit will feature several pieces from “Angles,” the artist’s most recent series of large-scale works, including a 4-meter-high steel sculpture composed of nine acute angles of various lengths and degrees.

Venet’s work can be found in the collections of some of the most prestigious museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the National Gallery of Art, Washington; the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. To date, thirty of his monumental pieces and public sculptures have been installed in major cities around the world, including Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, and Denver. He has exhibited works at documenta 6 and at the 56th Venice Biennale.
