On Friday, November 18, as part of Noviembre Fotográfico event, Villa Manuela Art Gallery will inaugurate at 6:00 pm Non places, a collective show curated by Yudinela Ortega and integrated by the artists Alain Cabrera, Alfredo Sarabia, Aluan Argüelles, Antonio Gómez Margolles, Felipe Dulzaides, Humberto Díaz, Juan Carlos Alom, Linet Sánchez, Liudmila & Nelson, Nadal Antelmo, Ricardo Miguel Hernández and Rigoberto Díaz.
Non places proposes to speak about photography as a space of coincidences and connector of realities. This project was born with the intention of rethinking the exercise of photography in a new context, taking into account its transfer to the interactivity of social networks and its ability to involve individuals in sensations, smells and experiences.
It is a question of approaching photography to become a sort of "substitute" for other forms of communication, connection point or place where we are and are not at the same time, as a metaphor of the non-physical place, resonance of the virtual non-place and individual document as not place. Through these connections we would be thinking of ourselves as decentralized entities, emerging and in constant process, able to participate in a number of realities even without being physically at a certain time and place, just transported by the image to spaces in-time like travelers who are struggling between the thin line of being and not being.
The exhibition will be open until Friday December 30th.
