Laurent Grasso is exhibiting in the group show ‘Explode Every Day’ at MASS MoCA curated by Denise Markonish and Columbus, Ohio-based artist Sean Foley.
The exhibition explores the notion of wonder, differentiating it from the often-associated ideas of curiosity, fact-finding and explanation. Rather, the conceptualisation of wonder represented in ‘Explode Every Day’ is a state poised between knowing and not knowing, generated by truly new experience. Grasso’s work specifically breaks down ideas of time and space by establishing ambiguous juxtapositions.
