The Imaginary World of Diego Giacometti

With over 60 works generously lent by private collectors who were close to the artist, the exhibition The Imaginary World of Diego Giacometti will offer an unprecedented look into the sculptor's singular creative talent and poetic imagination. It will showcase previously unseen pieces, most of them unveiled to the public for the very first time.

In the 1960s, Diego Giacometti (1902-1985) began designing chairs, tables, consoles and lamps decorated with a host of animal figures—frogs, mice, deer, foxes, dogs, cats and ostriches—that reveal an artist of stunning originality.

This exceptional exhibition follows the world-record price ($3,837,500) achieved by Diego Giacometti’s Table Aux Personnages on 15 November at Sotheby’s New York.
