Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum. Serie Art & Investment

The inaugural Art & Investment Series at the Frost Art Museum FIU features two marquee speakers whose views on the dynamics of the contemporary art market will provoke new ideas and provide insight to new and seasoned art collectors. This series is made possible by BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

Donald N. Thompson is an economist and has written about the art market for The Times of London, Fortune, and Harper’s Art. He is the author of nine books, including The Supermodel and the Brillo Box and The $12 Million Stuffed Shark, which has been published in thirteen languages.

A 10-year veteran of Art in America, Brian Boucher has served as the web editor of Artnet News, the 24-hour global art market newswire, since March 2013. He has written feature articles on such artists as Ken Price, Michael Rakowitz, Tom Sachs, and Rachel Harrison, and broken major news, such as the story about the sale of the Armory Show.
