With winter winding down, the art world is starting to heat back up. Our #PULSEPicks for the spring include Wolfgang Tillman's first exhibition at the Tate Modern in London and Taro Izumi's Pan at Paris' Palais de Tokyo.
Beatriz Santiago Muñoz: A Universe of Fragile Mirrors at El Museo del Barrio in New York is also not to be missed. Through a series of films and videos, the show captures the ironies of post-colonial conditions in the Caribbean—specifically in Haiti and Puerto Rico, and is curated by Maria Elena Ortiz, the curator of PAMM Picks at PULSE Miami Beach 2016. Also in New York, check out the Whitney Biennial, the longest running survey of contemporary art in the United States, and the first held in the museum's new Renzo Piano-designed building.
Continuing our partnership from PULSE Miami Beach 2016, we have collaborated with the National Young Arts Foundation to bring you a conversation between conceptual artist Glenn Ligon and Jazz musician Samora Pinderhughes. Get your tickets here and join us at New York Live Arts on Sunday, March 5 at 2pm.
In Miami, be sure to catch Marking the Infinite: Contemporary Women Artists from Aboriginal Australia at the Frost Art Museum, featuring works from nine artists who are revered matriarchs, commanding leadership roles and using art to empower their respective communities.
