In her socially engaged work, visual artist Golrokh Nafisi mixes the personal, the day-to-day and the political.
For Moussem Cities Tehran, Nafisi revisits the installation Continuous City.
It consists of different elements such as textile, hand-embroidered curtains, in-situ murals and more.
They reflect the cities Nafisi visited between 2017 and 2021: Tehran, Cairo, Lahore and Beirut. Brussels also gains a place in this new installation, as well as current events in Iran.
As a whole, the installation offers a highly personal reflection on the cultural metropolis in different continents and the complexity of life there.
