Madrid, September 2025. Starting September 11, GÄRNA Art Gallery (Jorge Juan, 12, Madrid) will host the group exhibition PANTA REI, featuring works by Fernando de Ana, Eva Claessens, and Santiago Picatoste.
The show takes as its reference Heraclitus’ notion of the river — “no one can cross the same river twice” — to emphasize beauty as a value in constant transformation, both in life and in art.
With PANTA REI, the gallery opens a new chapter, aiming to accompany established artists in larger-scale projects developed over longer periods of time.
According to Laura Garna, architect, interior designer, and founder of the gallery, “Although each of the three artists has a very distinct language, their works enter into dialogue and balance with each other. Together, they represent the essence of our proposal. We are not interested in trends; we reclaim hyper-aesthetics: that beauty which, while transforming, endures over time.”
The artists
- Fernando de Ana (Talavera de la Reina, 1979) creates abstract geometric figures by combining resin with neon and iridescent elements. His pieces, which appear to fluctuate between the solid and the liquid, present a mutable quality to the viewer. For PANTA REI, he will present three new resin-based works that reflect on material purity and the essence of art.
- Eva Claessens (Antwerp, 1971) works between figuration and abstraction in her exploration of the human figure. Her frameless canvases and unfinished-looking sculptures seek to capture fleeting, emotional moments from everyday life. The artist contributes three new canvases to this exhibition.
- Santiago Picatoste (Palma de Mallorca, 1971) creates metaphorical landscapes where color becomes the main subject. With a gestural brushstroke reminiscent of abstract expressionism (Pollock, De Kooning), he combines large color fields with industrial materials such as methacrylate sheets. For this occasion, he presents three works produced specifically for the exhibition.
