Japanese Thinks of Life within 1000 years from Cuban Dance

Japanese dancer and choreographer Saburo Teshigawara explores what life will be like in a thousand years, and to propose answers he chose to work with the Cuban company Acosta Danza.

Saburo, considered by international critics as the most important choreographer of his country, is convinced that living human beings can be reborn, only the question arises of how we would be, where we would be, how we would develop within a millennium.

These are some of the ideas he projects in a thousand years later, a piece molded on a lyrical suite by Austrian musician Alban Berg, based on abstract concepts and a very particular form of movement, as it teaches artists to use their breathing in order to take advantage of the inner strength to dance.

The dance serves to imagine situations different from those we live in today, he reflected during a press conference.

According to what the creator said in the main hall of Acosta Danza, through dance he tries to return to nature.

The Japanese artist will dance in the next season of the company directed by Carlos Acosta, which will take place at the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, on April 6, 7 and 8.
