LA Art Show Celebrates Korean Culture and Exhibitor Highlights

It's just two months since the LA Art Show 2023, and we're already building momentum toward an even more exciting program for 2024, with an emphasis on presenting more galleries from around the globe. We're especially gratified by the large number of Asian galleries we hosted this year, including 14 Korean galleries. This month we're pleased to focus on Korean art and culture, in particular, a special exhibition on now at the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles. We also highlight K+Y Contemporary, one of our featured galleries and an LA Art Show exhibitor since 2009!

Exhibitor Highlight:  K+Y Contemporary

We're thrilled that K+Y Contemporary will return to the LA Art Show in 2024. Based in Paris and celebrating its 20th year, K+Y Contemporary is dedicated to representing emerging and established contemporary international artists. The gallery's program embraces artworks across all media, including painting, sculpture and photography.

Currently on view at K+Y Contemporary is an exhibition by Catalan artist Lídia Masllorens. Titled Face to Face, the works are large scale originals and lithographs in black acrylic and bleach. The exhibition continues through May 30.

"Art is essential to our lives, a means of expression, a vehicle of emotions, a way to travel, a path to freedom. The LA Art Show 2024 will be the 15th year K+Y gallery has participated as an exhibitor. Every year it is a wonderful experience, with a great atmosphere and dozens of sales to both new and seasoned collectors. It has been a great opportunity to promote our European artists to the most enthusiastic art lovers. Under Kassandra's direction, the show is on track to become a top tier art fair in the entire USA."

Special Exhibition Highlight

Special Exhibition "Celebration," commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the ROK-U.S. Alliance presented by the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles & LA Art Show.

The LA Art Show is honored to be involved in Celebration, a special exhibition commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the ROK-U.S. Alliance, currently at the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles. The exhibition features artworks by ZiBEZI and The Producer BDB. ZiBEZI's free style mixed media paintings are works of improvised inspiration and the imagination. The Producer BDB (Bryan Avila), is a pop artist who explores the interplay between different cultures by mixing historical icons with modern fashion to create a sense of timelessness and cross-cultural dialogue. The exhibition continues through this Friday, April 28.
