Visual artist Leo Pum presents HYPER LIKE, an installation on view from December 18, 2025 to January 18, 2026 at HYPER HOUSE, an independent contemporary art space located in Vista Alegre–Carabanchel, Madrid.
The exhibition reflects on hyperconnectivity and the desire for digital approval, approaching the “like” not as an ephemeral gesture but as an absolute state that overflows the virtual environment and materializes in physical space. In HYPER LIKE, screens are pierced and transformed, becoming vulnerable bodies that retain a post-digital energy.
The project emerges as a mutation of Imagen Hunting, a performative action first presented on February 13, 2025, at Sala Amadís (INJUVE, Madrid). In this action, shooting arrows at screens becomes a physical attempt to pierce the flawless surface of the image and restore its corporeality.
The installation operates as a phygital ecosystem, where the digital and the material merge until they become indistinguishable. The “hyper-like” appears as excess, collapse, and fracture. Through saturation, the image ceases to represent and becomes presence. The broken interface reveals its internal structure—cables, light, electricity, and noise—exposing the mechanisms behind contemporary digital experience.
From a low-tech sensibility, Leo Pum proposes a reappropriation of technology by dismantling and manipulating devices, returning them to their tactile dimension. In contrast to the polished immediacy of the digital realm, error, residue, and friction emerge as new forms of sensitivity.
HYPER LIKE creates a space for contemplation after overexposure, where digital desire becomes embodied, erodes, and transforms into matter. The exhibition functions as a contemporary ritual, observing how, in attempting to touch the image, the body ultimately dissolves within it.
