Organized in close collaboration with the Norman Foster Foundation, this major exhibition explores the relevance of the automobile as it relates to the history of art and design in the past century. Curated by renowned British architect Norman Foster, it includes a selection of 38 iconic, rarely seen vehicles, as well as some 300 pieces: paintings and sculptures by celebrated artists, photographs and audiovisuals, sketchbooks, and architectural models by some of the last century's most influential architects and designers.
Beginnings, Sculptures, Popularising, Sporting, Visionaries, Americana, and Future, are the thematic titles of the galleries that guide the chronological structure of the exhibition. Each gallery in this unique exhibition addresses a particular historical moment or theme in which the intersection of industrial design, art, and architecture is visible.
The show also dedicates one of its main galleries to the theme of the future of mobility, featuring the ideas of 16 of the most prestigious schools of engineering and design from across the world.
