Trapholt. Connect Me

Human x Nature x Technology – How do I connect with the world?

The exhibition CONNECT ME focuses on our connections with the world. In a time of climate crisis, growing inequality, insecurity and loneliness, there is a need for new ways of connecting. Through the works on display, the exhibition explores how connections define who we are: Am I nature? Am I relationships? Am I technology?

Throughout most of history and across cultures, we humans have regarded ourselves as special: as superior to animals, nature and all material things. CONNECT ME takes its point of departure in the premise that everything is connected and that everything mutually influences everything else.

In the wake of years of isolation and uncertainty, our connection to nature, technology and each other has changed. CONNECT ME invites us to pause and take stock of our personal relationships with the world. What is a relationship? How does a relationship between a person and a ‘thing’ arise? And what does it mean to feel connected?

The exhibition extends across 1,200 square metres of floor space encompassing four rooms at the museum, presenting Danish and international contemporary artists:

Annie Sprinkle & Beth Stephens / USA

Astrid Mynkekær / Denmark

Camilla Reyman / Denmark
