Sun Xun. 3rd Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale

Sun Xun has been selected to present his work ‘The Republic of Jing Bang’ at the 3^rd Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale, China. A discussion of geopolitics and critique of the concept of nationhood, ‘The Republic of Jing Bang’ is a faux nation that operates outside the normal constraints of time and space.

Sun Xun provides the opportunity for people to apply for citizenship of this metaphysical nation-state, which includes a passport, ID card, book of Jing Bang, DVD box set and national flag.

The 3^rd Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale seeks to compile a global collection of digital images by gathering projects from internationally renowned artists; and by consolidating film, video and animation into one spatial experience.
