Art Factory connects its guideline with the XIII Biennial

The purpose of the Cuban Art Factory to unite in the same transgressor and transdisciplinary space all artistic manifestations, will be revealed once again during the XIII Biennial of Havana, an event whose collateral samples will be incorporated with La pauta que conecta, a large program of exhibitions, performances and interventions.

This was expressed by the main curator of that cultural institution, Rosemary Rodríguez, in a recent meeting with the press in which she was accompanied by a group of specialists in charge of organizing each of the events that, linked to the visual arts, dance, the design and architecture, will take place there, daily, starting next April 12.

The Renaissance concept of placing man as the center or measure of all things, she said, will give coherence to the set of works that the numerous invited artists will present in the different spaces of the FAC, whose traditional limits will be broken in this opportunity, for the sake of that a dialogue be established between them.

The human body, the self-referential, the link with the community, are some of the subjects to which the creators resort, some of whose works will overflow to the walls and exterior areas; like the performance-caravan Listening to the Beatles, creating my beetles, by Alejandro Sautié, who turned his old Austin A55 into the sculpture of a beetle; creation in which art and inventiveness merge; the creation of spiritual values with those of utilitarian use; the restoration with art.

The design will have a strong presence within the samples of the pattern that connects, with projects that will be the industrial design, the graphic; as well as the so-called author, the latter with large-scale goldsmith's pieces.

With a new schedule from 12 m to 6 pm, from Monday to Wednesday; and from 4 pm to 2 am, from Thursday to Sunday; the FAC has organized, parallel to the exhibitions, a day program until April 26, in which there will be dance workshops, conferences and projections of Santiago Álvarez documentaries related to the visual arts; all options that students can access free of charge, upon presentation of the card that accredits them as such.

Among the artists who will participate with their works in FAC are the National Prize of Plastic Arts 2018 José A. Toirac, Esterio Segura, Glenda León, Enrique Rottenberg, Juan Carlos Alom, Arturo Montoto, Giselle Monzón, Nelson Ponce, René Peña and Adonis Flowers, just to mention a few.
