Present the Cuban letters at the La Paz Fair

Bolivia will be the next destination of the literature of the Greater Antilles, with the participation of two of its authors in the 24 International Book Fair that, organized by the Departmental Chamber of the Book of La Paz, will be held in that city from next July 31 to August 11.

The poet, essayist and literary critic Alfredo Zaldívar Muñoa, National Prize for 2012 Edition and director of Matanzas Editions; as well as Josué Pérez Rodríguez, a young poet who currently directs the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center in the capital and the Literary Program of the International Book Fair of Havana in 2020, are Cuban writers invited to this edition of the event.

The first of them, in addition to reading his poems, will give a lecture on the twenty years of existence of the System of Territorial Editions, of which he is founder; while Pérez Rodríguez will present his most recent poems, The futures that were, and will maintain contacts with executives of the Andean nation, with a view to the participation of Bolivia as Guest of Honor in FIL 2020.

As usual in these appointments, not only the main publishers of the patio will be represented with their publications at their stand in Cuba, but also posters of Casa de las Américas, records and handicrafts will be marketed, among other cultural products always demanded by the public assistant.

Annually, the Caribbean island has an active participation in events of this type; both in Europe and in Latin America. At the end of April, it attended the 45 International Book Fair of Buenos Aires, Argentina and, soon, it will do so in Panama, from August 13 to 18.

It will also be the Guest Country of Honor in which it will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay, at the end of September; as well as at the LIBER Fair, in Spain; that of Frankfurt, in Germany; and those of Guadalajara and El Zócalo, in Mexico, for the remainder of the current year.
