ART.SY: after VIP ART FAIR

A new platform for the art market will be launched next month on the web: ART.SY, an American portal whose main goal is to become the world’s largest database of original works and enhance the community of art collectors.

Following the first edition of VIP Art Fair, an art-oriented event exclusively devoted to the Internet and that brought along a turnout of 140 galleries and over 140,000 collectors, ART.SY now pops up as a promising modality on the road ahead.

ART.SY –led by Carter Cleveland, an engineer in information technology, and Sebastian Cwilich, former exec at Christie’s and founder and CEO of ProyectArte- counts on prestigious consultants from the world of arts, including gallery owners like Larry Gagosian, owner of the seven Gagosian art galleries; Barrett White, director of the Haunch of Venison gallery; Cristina Tierney, director of Cristin Tierney Fine Art Advisory Services, and David Cleveland, art historian and freelanced art commissioner.

Other boldface names joining ART.SY are Joe Kennedy, CEO of Pandora; Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google; Dasha Zhukova, Russian art collector and founder of Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, and Jack Dorsey, el cofounder of Twitter.
