Herazo, at Angel Romero Gallery

Madrid: Spain-based Colombian artists Gloria Herazo (Colombia, 1973) is coming on for a second time around with her work at the Angel Romero Gallery.

Critics agree in her use of irony, paradoxically loaded with tenderness whereby she legitimizes an ambiguous discourse of the reality by resorting on such motives as a social portrait of Colombia in the 1950s.

With a degree in Fine Arts, Gloria Herazo finished her studies in Costa Rica where she specialized in material technology. She then settled down in Madrid and continued her formation focused on the social function of the arts.

Her professional career includes individual exhibits in South America and Europe, as well as participations at the International Art Fair in Berlin (Berliner Liste, 2009) and the International Art Fair in Paris (AAF, 2009). She has won recognitions like the Second National Prize of Young Art Painting, an award granted by the Maria Jose Jove Foundation and the top prize at the 12th BBVA National Painting Exhibit. Her works are part of both public and private collection in Europe and South America.
