Fifteen Galician Artists Gather in One Project

The press conference for the official launch of the Contemporary Art and Disability project will unfold Monday noon at the headquarters of the Maria Jose Jove Foundation.

This institution fostered the coming together of fifteen Galician artists –Anton Lamazares, Anxel Huete, Berta Caccamo, Dario Basso, Jose Freixanes, Din Matamoro, Francisco Leiro, Fruela Alonso, Itziar Ezquieta, Jorge Barbi, Manolo Paz, Manuel Quintana Martelo, Pablo Gallo, Vicente Blanco and Xavier Corrrea Corredoira– with fifteen mentally disabled people in a bid to show a joint vision of contemporary art. The objective is to provide an enriching experience and make these people see a different view of the world through a number of artistic expressions enticed in a direct and dynamic relationship.

A group of sessions within the project took place between January and February this year. The photographic and audiovisual documentation of these sessions will be handed to the press on that same day.
