CASA / ARTE: New Fair in Madrid

A brand-new space for art market has born in Madrid, promoted by gallery owner Blanca Berlin and La Fundacion –chaired by Pablo Aleman–. CASA / ARTE is going to be held in this city on December 18 - 23, and the main objective is to gather around 30 national and international galleries, with "proposals that would attract not only experienced collectors that look for new ideas and artists, but also more viewers than usual, who are interested in acquiring art, although they are still intimidated by (…) an experience they believe is reserved for experts and millionaires."

One of the attractive elements of the Fair is the price of artworks, within the reach of more enthusiasts: the limit was set in 1,800 euros with proposals starting in 200. Blanca Berlin is going to be the artistic director of the event, which will be taking place at the venue of the Architects College of Madrid (COAM), located in the commercial street Hortaleza. The Selection Committee is made up of Javier Vallhonrat, National Photography Award, curator Alejandro Castellote and Enrique Valles, vice-chairman of 9,915 collectors association.

The last month of this year are going to be very active in the Spanish capital in terms of art events. The 2nd edition of Room Art Fair Madrid is scheduled to be held on November 23 - 25 at Praktik Metropol hotel; La Lonja hall, Casa del Reloj Cultural Center -in Arganzuela- will be housing in those days the 14th edition of EntreFotos, a fair for artists; and the 13th edition of FAIM is going to be held before that date.
