Mapping Latin America for SOLO PROJECTS 2013

Casa de America, Madrid, witnessed on October 17 a meeting of curators that worked on the research for SOLO PROJECTS section of ARCOmadrid 2013, which was aimed at handpicking the most outstanding proposals that were put on the map by some galleries.

Inti Guerrero, Associated Artistic Director of TEOR/éTica (Costa Rica); Catalina Lozano, independent commissioner and co-founder of de_sitio (Mexico); Gabriel Perez Barreiro, chairman of Patricia Phelps de Cisneros collection, New York; Alexia Tala, independent commissioner(Chile); and Cristiana Tejo, independent commissioner (Brazil), were the curators for this edition of SOLO PROJECTS, which once again targeted the work of Latin American artists. These five figures, along with Guillermo Escribano from AECID and Carlos Urroz, director of the exhibition, studied the research processes applied to select the galleries and creators that would participate in this program.

The presence of galleries is going to be reinforced by the participation of directors of institutions that were invited to the 2nd Meeting of European and Latin American Museums, headed this time by Reina Sofia Museum, Madrid, and MALI Museum, Lima.
