Sala Retiro Announces Extraordinary Auction in October

Art and jewels are going to be auctioned on October 24 – 25 at Sala Retiro, Madrid. The first session will be focused on jewels and watches and the second one is going to be dedicated to paintings and decorative arts.

Art lots are going to be marked by the presence of artists from the Spanish and international avant-garde such as Joan Miro, Albert Gleizes, Francisco Bores, Manuel Millares or Miquel Barcelo, among others.

A spectacular painting from 1973 stands out, Viñas y Olivos, singed by Godofredo Ortega Muñoz, singular work from his come of age, and Estructura a cinco tonos con dos gamas de formas intercaladas, by Uruguayan artist Joaquin Torres Garcia.

Other important artworks are those created by Benjamin Palencia, and the one included in the auction is Camino del poeta (1970), a tribute paid to Generacion del 27, with a starting price of 60,000 euros. Likewise, Oscar Dominguez joins the list, presently considered one of the world representatives of the historic Spanish avant-garde, with Composition au revolver, staring price 15,000 euros.

Sala Retiro exhibition hall is already showcasing the objects and artworks to be auctioned so people interested can start bidding when they visit the venue or through its website www.salaretiro.com.
