Belén Franco at Siboney Gallery

The solo show prepared by artist Belén Franco for Siboney Gallery, within the framework of Santander International Festival (FIS is the Spanish acronym), gathers a series of paintings, sketches and drawn books, all of which are related to different musical instruments and the people that play them.

This is the first solo show Belén Franco (Madrid, 1956) displays in Santander, after she had collaborated with Siboney in several collective exhibits. Belén Franco has participated in prestigious generational shows, such as “The Circus in Spanish Art” (Esteban Vicente de Segovia Museum of Contemporary Art, 2008), “Song of the Figures” that, after its presentation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in San Fernando (Madrid), was showcased at Cervantes Institute’s facilities in Brussels, Paris, Rome and Buenos Aires, (2001); or “2nd Refractory Halls” by Madrid’s Buades Gallery back in 1998.
