The Craft Fair in the Cuban Eastern, IBEROARTE 2014

Each year in the second half of October Holguin is decked. The Festival of Latin American Culture fills all cultural areas of this region and announces itself as the milestone of art in Latin America. This time will be held from October 24th  to October 30th , inviting the whole audience to enjoy Holguin theoretical events, concerts, theatrical and dance works, craft fairs and art exhibitions; in short, a numberless of activities that will allow depth exchanges between domestic and foreign culture.

Meanwhile, the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC) together with the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in the province, organize IBEROARTE Fair 2014 whose main objective is to bring the crafts of foreign and national territory artisans to the visiting public.

This year, in its XIII edition, the fair will begin to take shape shortly before the opening of the Fiesta Iberoamericana, between October 17th  and November 2nd , with a daily schedule from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm . It will be attended by 52 artisans from 9 nations: Italy, Peru, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador and Costa Rica; as well as 66 national artisans booths in which Holguin and Havana have the predominant participation.

The event will occupy three main venues to host the exhibition shows, with artisan production lines ranging from the utilitarian to the decorative: the Fairground Expo-Holguin, the Art Center and the headquarters of the UNEAC where workshops will be held for children and youth as well as the presentation and promotion of Visual Arts Bazaar "Lot 13??", with activities devoted to various artists from Holguin plastic.

In the ARTEX cultural center "Benny Moré", at 5:00 pm, the long-awaited fashion shows presentations will be made with national and foreign designers, in order to offer new perspectives on current fashion trends in Cuba and abroad.

Thus the "City of Parks" makes of Fiesta Iberoamericana a place of cultural and intellectual joy in which the IBEROARTE Fair pronounces as one of the most important areas of confluence. It also reasserts the place where plastic and craft demonstrations converge, that make of this community project one of the best options and more accepted by the audience.
