Excellencies Group gets art from Ecuador

A pleasant gathering at the House of Alba meant the meeting in Havana of Ecuadorian group "Desde la Mirada" with the editor of the Journal Art for Excellencies  as part of the activities for the twentieth anniversary of the Ibero- American Culture Festival, to be held in the city of Holguin, Cuba, from October 24^th  to October 30^th .

Jose Carlos de Santiago, Director of the Excellencies Group and Managing Editor, received a painting on canvas, titled "Nuevas Alegrías" ("New Joys") by Ecuadorian painter Paula Ordonez, from the hands of the cultural promoter Ghislaine Izaguirre, who since 2011 has nucleated women artists from more than fifteen countries.

Among songs, poems, and reflections, it was an evening in which the members of the group "Desde la Mirada" shared their views on women, diversity and the role of art as a mobilizer of social consciousness.

The poet Waldo Leyva, Director of the House of Alba, and Rochy Ameneiro, singer and Coordinator of the project Tod@s contracorriente, who along with Jose Carlos de Santiago were present and encouraged discussion between Ecuadorian and Cuban women.
