"Casa, búnker, ruina". In Isabel Hurley Gallery

As a starting point, Daniel Silvo presents the work that has developed over the past three years, entitled "Casa, búnker, ruina". It is a body of work whose central point is the short film of the same name, which proposes a hypothesis of a nuclear disaster, an event from which the importance and necessity of architecture, art and design is questioned. An atomic explosion would change the order of values of things, and these changes affect our use of design objects and art and culture in general.

At the opening the book "Casa Búnker Ruina" will be presented, which includes texts by Christian Dominguez, Luciana Cadahia, Luis Francisco Pérez and Raúl Zamudio, about the relationship between cinema and the arts, politics in art and some other points that emerge from the analysis of the works presented in the exhibition.

The performance titled "Conservación", with the participation of two known Malaga collectors will be presented; posing a reflection on the conservation of the image, the value of copy, the notion of authorship and interpretation of cultural heritage.

Other works to be displayed are related to the preservation of the digital image through migration to increasingly analog formats, using references of international contemporary art. Thus, we find reinterpretations of works by Julian Opie, Jenny Holzer and Francis Alÿs on materials like sheep skin, snake and salmon respectively.

Life as a colonizing of culture is also presented in the form of mushrooms, mushrooms that occupy excessive scenarios of culture and iconic pieces of art history.

Opening: Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at 20:00.
