Frank Fernández and Niurka González gave away magnificent concert in Havana

The Basilica of the Convent San Francisco de Asis, in Old Havana, hosted a unique concert by pianist Frank Fernández and flutist Niurka González, with which they paid tribute to the eight medical students shot during the colony, on November 27th,  1871.

 

The famous musicians performed the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Cantata No. 147 Coral, Hail Mary, and Sonata No. 3 BWV E flat Major (Allegro Allegro Siciliana); Songs of Love The Fall (the cycle The Seasons), A Lonely heart (Based on a poem by Goethe) of PL Tchaikovsky; Topics of Telenovela Love Earth Brava and the film The Great Rebellion's own authorship of Frank Fernández; and finally, the Sonata No. 15 Bb Major K.454 (Largo-Allegro Andante Allegretto) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

 

The city historian Eusebio Leal, together with distinguished personalities, including the Ambassadors of Russia and Chile were, briefly recounted the birth of the city, and said, that in that same place had studied the Cuban educator and philosopher José de la Luz y Caballero, in addition to citing the passionate verses of José Martí in honor to the students.

 

The pianist Frank Fernández described the concert as spiritual, highlighting the importance of love, in a global context plagued by war and famine.

 

In closing, and outside the program, pianist asked the audience, which completely filled the room, to sing the part / Quiéreme mucho /, by the master Gonzalo Roig.
