Urban Art Invades the Graphicart spaces

This exhibition, which compiles a dozen pieces representing the presentation this artist has carried out both in public space and in the exhibition areas of galleries, will be opened until April 12, and it shows a journey through different creations with which Flix tries to change the environment by giving it back life and turning it into a space more pleasant, lucid and colorful, according to what Flix states.

His aesthetic proposal, as says Gerado Zavarce, an artist who join this exhibition, “mainly assumes the street as the core to display a fresh sensibility full of dense plots, chromatic labyrinths, robots, stencils, among other kind of creation experiences covering initiatives so different like the video mapping and the  decals.”

In that sense, he appropriates the public space and uses the canvas to show proposals with an emphasis on urban aesthetics: ludic, temporal, all of them devised as a strategic to build new sense to life and interpret the city, according to Zavarce“.

This way, when we analyze the presentations carried out by Flix, we can see the use of sensible strategies, the city as a free desire through the power of the new meanings related to the current dynamic on the streets. That is the desires related to some park, some grille turning into a kind of weave of chromatic transparence on the pavement, the bus stop full smell, a robot desiring the peace for the city, a new urban playwriting to give life the city, says visual art researcher Gerardo Zavarce.

Flix, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela in 2002, has presented his work in collective and individual exhibitions such as Jóvenes con FIA 2009 12th Edición (First Prize), Festival of "imaginary" art Universos Urbanos, "El Arte es Emoción" at the Los Galpones art center, collective exhibitions at the  D´Museo and Paremthesis galleries, Individual “Dinamismo Geométrico” La Casa 22, among others. Also, he has attend international exhibitions like Poster & Sticker Koloni Dresden (Germany), “CansFestival” (Ingland), and Madrid Poster Art 2009 (Spain); and his work has been published in outstanding publications like URBAN ART BERLIN - Jaron Verlag GMBH, January 2009, author Kai Jacob; NUEVO MUNDO: LATIN AMERICAN STREET ART - Gestalten, April 2011, author Maximiliano Ruiz; and the main figures of the urban Spanish art and graffiti Lunwerg, September 2011, author Mario Suárez; among others.
