Fran Paredes Will Honor Ernesto Lecuona in a Concert in Havana

Havana.- Pianist Fran Paredes will offer a concert next Friday at the Cuban Dance Museum to honor Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona in his 120th anniversary, concert organizers said recently. Paredes will perform pieces composed by the most universal Cuban musicians like Preludio en la noche and La Habanera, as well as five waltzes, three pieces of the Andalucia Suite and three Afrocuban dances.

According to intellectual Miguel Barnet, Lecuona gave light and prestige to our culture, and his pieces became international since they were performed in several venues across the world.

Paredes has toured across Europe, Latin America and Africa, and recently recorded an album with Cuban soprano Johana Simón.
